Which valve extenders for Vittoria tubs?

Hello

I'm a little confused. I just ordered some Vittoria Evo Corsa CX tubs, along with a Crono as a spare.

Which valve extenders are the best for these? I've heard either Vittoria or Conti are best, but Zipp are not so good - something to do with removable cores. How about the Topeak ones?

Also, I'm running with Planet X Carbon 50 wheelset, so what is the minimum length of extensions I require?

Thanks a million

griff

30mm conitinental extenders for vittoria tubs with removable valve core. The entire valve unscrews at the valve base. Screw continental extender in first, then replace the red vittoria valve on top with a little plumbers ptfe tape on thread.

The valve core itself (ie the tiny theaded bit at the top doesn't come out.

If you buy cheaper tubs in the vittoria range or continental giros as spares, the valve does not come off , nor does the top bit come out. For these you need Zipp style ehtenders. I got 303 ( 33mm) extenders and thet will prob just work on a 50mm rim. Go longer if possible(78mm ) for 808 rims- noone seems to have 404 extenders in stock.

    Brilliant, thanks.

The PTFE tape is for threadlocking, right? Can I use, say, Loctite 243 instead?

no.. the ptfe tape helps get an airtight join & stops leakage around the threads...

about a pound from B&Q or DIY store....it will last tou for ever unless you take up plumbing.....!

    these are what i got

    zipp 303 - http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... IPPTYRZ100 - try wiggle for 78mm - website seems down at moment - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Zipp_ ... 360035017/

I use the same tyres, on Zipp 404's with the 404 Vittoria valve core extenders.
Just need to find a stockist of the Vittoria Evo Corsa CX tub in black/red, for a spare
