Where do you keep your bike?

My Mrs is moaning at my bikes (even though I have recently sold 2!) being in the spare room and is demanding the room back .
I do not have a garage and was thinking about putting up a shed with some anchor points in. We have a solid concrete base where one was before. I just do not like the thought of my best bike being out there in the cold protected by only a few mm of wood.
Do you guys and gals keep your bikes in the shed anchored or should I consider a proper bike storage unit (although the ones I have seen are about £500 ish which seems quite pricey for something fairly small)
... maybe I should tell my wife to move out

In my divorce papers - listed as one of the reasons:
"he kept his 6 bikes inside the house".
I only have 2 bikes - but you get the idea.0 -

Build the shed - save the £500 on not buying an anchor but decorate with flowery wallpaper and stick a bed in there for the missus.Trek Madone 5.9

Garage
The Brompton likes to hide in my car or under the desk in the study, but knows it really ought to live in the garage.
What about wall bars? You can fit a couple of bikes on a single bracket (one of those "2 arm" jobbies) at head height. I used to have 2 tandems mounted on one in my kitchen. No space in that house for a shed, and the cellar had a tight turn that just allowed road bike to be manoeuvred down.Commute: Langster -Singlecross - Brompton S2-LX

At the moment, new bike is in the dining room/kitchen - OH doesn't look pleased. I've been told to get a shift on and get the shed rebuilt (solid blockwork one). Will be reinforcing it with some steel plate in strategic places and putting some anchors in.0

Like you I have no garage, the sheds are full of gardening stuff and my bike(s) are worth more than my car so no way do I want it kept outside somewhere. Solution I have the on wall mounted brackets in my home/office.
My wife's not exactly happy about it but I get by as long as I don't wheel it through the house

In a leaky old shed at the bottom of the garden. House is too small for the bike to be inside and we have toddlers so everytime they can they cover themselves in oil from the chain and tip it over (luckily it's not carbon). The winter isn't kind to it - but there's not much I can do. I did keep it in the dining room for some of the worst of the winter when I was trying to make myself use my turbo (and generally failing). Rented house - so the landlord couldn't be less interested in building a nice new shed for my bike.My cycling blog: http://girodilento.com/0

commuter in the hall, TT bike in the bedroom and racing bike in the lounge....housemates love it!!...glad to see everyone else is just as antisocial to live with.0

mine is in the hallway, but i live in a second floor, 2 bed flat so have not an awful lot of room to play with. currently just a road bike, was a bit ridiculous with the mtb in here before i got rid of it ... a dirty mtb is not ideally dragged up three flights of stairs, through 2 fire doors, my front door and kept on a cream carpet.0
-
ha ha, if (when) i get a tt bike i would probably end up with it in the bedroom, people would talk though !? they already think i'm obsessed.0

Years ago, used to keep them in the bedroom...Rather than Lynx, my room used to smell of WD40 & citrus degreaser! Rented property & houseshared with lads so no problemo
Currently keep 'em in the garage...chained to ground anchor & garage is alarmed etc etc etc
Pending garage conversion is actually gonna be 5 foot shorter than planned to accommodate.
I know, I know - I need to chill out!Exorcise your demons...nobody likes a fat demon0 -
i keep mine in a time lock vault with 4 feet concrete reinforced walls so dont think about it. :roll:0
