warmish white socks?

I've got thicker black mtb socks (Gore Alp-X, woollie boollies etc.)
and thin summer white socks (Gore Xenon, Nike)
but I could do with some warmish white socks for cooler days when I'm using my 3/4 bibs.
Any suggestions?
I was wondering how thick the Gore Contest are

I have been looking for some as well. (I've been going out in knee warmers with black woolie boolies turned down to make them less conspicuous - would hate to make a cycling fashion faux pas! )
Rapha do some white merino ones but I don't know what they're like. I was also looking at the De Marchi ones on Wiggle.0 -

I've a pair of Campagnolo socks that are meant for spring and autumn riding. They are thicker than normal socks and definitely warmer.0

Assos do some 'early winter' socks. Could be worth a look.Racing for Fluid Fin Race Team in 2012 - www.fluidfin.co.uk0

Rapha merino socks are great - have to get 3 pairs for a (vaguely) reasonable price though0

this is very tarty I realise but how long are the Solo merino ones?Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Fairly short, just over the ankle - they're real pretty0

+1 for the solo socks,
warm but not too thick and seem much harder wearing than my rapha pair which went really thin on the heels very quickly, a nice pale cream colour with red/yellow spanish flag style stripes on the top too.0 -
had numerous socks from numerous manufacturers and in my humble opinion you can't beat the woolie boolies.....whatever the weather, unless boiling hot.
of the others avoid assos as i got a pair of their winter socks that developed a hole with 5-6 rides...and they cost a bomb. I've some northwave merino ones which are great and finally I got some Rapha merino ones...not had em long enough to form a 'durability opinion' but at 3 pairs for 30 quid they are actually good value for merino socks (cheaper than any of the others mentioned above and the Solo ones).0
