Damn I am unfit! Fantastic trail and localish too. I am embarassed to say I had to push up a couple of hills. But it is a truly fun trail with some huge grinning moments. I like the rollers and the jumps. Not too severe like some up stlie cop, but enough to get some good air if you hit them right.

The trail tearing up a bit has to be due to it being new. With a couple of repairs it will settle down.

Did FTD & MT today. First time on MT, must say it was fun but scary in parts. Found a few bits very tricky esp the downhill Rock gardens (too cautious). Great day but absolutely knackered.
Respect to the trailbuilders, I always pay for parking & use the Cafe if poss as It's well worth it. still cheap for such a great day out!
Sherwood Pines is nearer so go there more often on the Red, but FTD & esp the MT are a step up, like a different grade!

Don't know what was going on on Sat afternoon but we hit the trails and kept getting tangled up with...women. Now I love 'em to bits but there's a time and a place and these lovelies were going excruciatingly slow. Nice bit of eye candy but really, women - know your limits! :)

If the bloke with his mrs in Hope team kit reads this - lol nice one

    Great coffee too!
  • I went there a few weeks ago with a group from mbswindon.
    We really liked it.
I thought that the Monkey Trail was excellent, virtually no fire road climbing either.

For a trail centre ride it's currently unbeatable!

I know! And I live under a mile from the chase, it takes me less than 10 mins to get to the start of the trail riding from my house :D How happy am I as petrol prices go through the roof. I can't afford 120 miles each way trips to coedy this is just what the midlands needs

Now if we can make it a local trail for local people only   Gerroff my laand

Also I have to moan about how many people I saw riding without lids on yesterday, I also saw a few crashes and had a small spill myself. ride safe mates 8)

i don't know if it's just me but i can't see why this trail is so highly rated, don't get me wrong it is ok but in my opinion i think llandegla with the new section and the freeride bit added to the end is moons better than cannock chase, i found cannock a little boring, i just think to say for for atrail centre it is unbeatable is ridiculous, sorry

It's my local and it certainly isn't unbeatable. I'd much rather have Coed-y-Brenin on my doorstep.

Llandegla is a good blast, especially with the new bits, and the cafe is superb but for me Cannock has more varied and challenging terrain and loads of off piste stuff too.
The only downside is how busy it can get.

thats fair enough but i just hate the way people harp on about cannock chase all the time and thought i needed to put some perspective on this, i mean people are quick enought to slate llandegla saying it's not technical enough but i honestly don't think that, that is the point of llandegla it is made to be able to be ridden fast with decent jumps, and if people think it's to easy then they should hit the sections faster and challenge themselves more, i saw lads today at llandegla who where obviously in to dirt jumping and competant at jumping who were regualy casing the tabletops and doubles on the last section there, there not easy jumps and you need to be technicaly sound when jumping them or you will get hurt, i can easily do everything at cannock but find it a challenge to clear that last section cleanly, there is nothing at cannock that challenges me like that so i don't buy the statement cannock is more challenging, i don't think there is anything paticualy technical about cannock or majorly challenging to be honest but everywhere i look at the minute people are harping on about it. The welsh trail centres are much better i think. But thats just my opinion!
