some big government/terrorist/military/alien thing is going down,

even the writers of spooks could not come up with a 'big cloud of volcanic ash' to shut down uk airspace !

    There is, it's just not quite everywhere. If any flights are leaving Manchester, then it's not there anymore, and if the route doesn't take you through it (a flight to Spain, I'd imagine) then you're fine. You can't leave Manchester on a route through the cloud, say to Germany.

    Also depends on the height your aircraft cruises at. Most commercial airliners fly at 30,000 feet+ Some smaller aircraft fly lower hence they might be allowed to fly.

    Not just UK airspace, Northern Europe and Switzerland are all under restriction.

    In fact no flights now to/from Germany/France/Italy. Really only Spain and Turkey are open but you can't get there.

    Best give it 28 days then,think i'll go check the back garden and the street,if i see anyone shuffling about with a glazed look in their eyes,it's either been a good night for someone or it's time to polish the cricket bat and get swinging.
