Shorts or bibshorts?

Looking to treat myself to some new saddlewear and not sure whether to get shorts or bibs. Have winter bib tights and like the fact that everything stays 'up' but don't like having to strip off to pee. What do you folks do?

    Definitely bibs.

You don't have to strip to pee (assuming you're a bloke). Either pull the front down or roll up a leg and pop the admiral out.

Definitely go for the bibs. Don't need to strip off to pee, just hold the front of your bibshorts down and pop your banger out, pee away, shake shake, back in. Job's a good 'un.

 Yes I tried that and felt like the bibs were gonna rip/ did slightly rip. Poor fit or maybe the fact that they're cheap. Plus the fact that I'm 6'3" and mostly leg may not help!

Deffo bibs - and some shorts are shorter at the front to help you whip it out.

Bibs, no question. (roll the leg up  )

I only use shorts on the turbo, and that's because I don't own enough bibs.

Bibs, much more comfy (nothing digging in your waist) and no chance of bum crack being on display :p

Bibs for me. I have no idea why anyone would go for regular shorts!

    bibs

  • I was always dubious about bibs when i first got started but now I doubt i would use anything else. the comfort is far superior to shorts. I do still wear shorts (just ones I bought before taking the jump to bibs) but this will only be until they get worn out.

I have found buying bibs, as with shorts i guess, it is important to get ones with a good pad. I have a pair of DHBs whicre great at a reasonable price and I also recently bought some CRAFT bibs which have a much thicker pad but are far more uncomfrotable when riding, it feels like you are floating about on the gel which is annoying on long rides.

Also peeing isn't an issue you'll get the knack quick enough using any one of the methods suggested above.

Not a problem I suffer from, but I have a runner friend that does... Vaseline works well apparently, and there are also some nipple plaster things (nipguards?) you can get from running shops. Good luck!
