I have started commuting 20 miles a day recently. and have been thinking about getting my bike seviced at our local shop.
The sevice price includes changing all cables if required genral health check tyre pressures checked. The price is £35 does that sound like a fair price?
and how much do most people spend on servicing?
I have a Dawes Geneva With Nexus 7 speed hub.

£35 sounds reasonable. Probably the average price for a LBS. Evans charge £55 for their basic service.

However, in the long run you're better off investing that money in your own tools and doing the servicing yourself. Bikes really aren't that complicated, though your hub is probably a bit more difficult. I imagine the £35 wouldn't include overhauling that anyway.
