I remember hearing that Richard the Lionheart requested that different bits of his body be sent to different places after his death. I think his heart went one place, his entrails another and his body somewhere else.
Anyone know the reasons for each body part and location being matched?

I live in cockermouth and I've never heard that..."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I think William Wallace ( Braveheart) was chopped up and sent to the four corners of Britain. Not his choice though! Not sure about Richard.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0

Aha. just saw this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_I_of_England
He died while beseiging a castle in France. He took a crossbow bolt to the arm and died when the wound became infected. Apparently he pardoned the man that fired the crossbow, but after he died his men ignored his orders and flayed the man alive.
His body was buried with his father in Anjou. His heart was buried in Rouen (not sure why). And his entrails were buried in Chalus, where he died (guess he didn't like that place).
Quite interesting I think!0
