New Pedals for Planet X SL Pro Carbon

Just got my SRAM Rival SL Pro in white.

I have an Allez with Shimano M520's and I have SPD pedals on my mountain bike. I ride both with a pair of Specialized BG MTB shoes.

I'm tempted to get SPD's again for the Planet X - so that I can use the same pair of shoes across all three bikes...but is it criminal putting m520's on the Planet X ?

And what's the view on white M520's to match the white SL Pro carbon frame ?

I think Shimano have just brought out a new road pedal for SPD's (not spdl) - this weeks cycling weekly has a review IIRC

edit: just read you want to ride them with mtb shoes, they might not fit because of the treads on the shoe...

to be honest, since you've just bought a spanking new bike why not get some spanking new shoes to go with it. Plenty of deals on shimano ro86's at the moment (crc, merlin) about 65 quid. You know it makes sense...

New Shimano pedal is the A600 - an Ultegra level thing they claim. It's an SPD cleat too

I bought a pair and they are very nice, would recommend them!

The pedals do say they will work with any MTB SPD shoe so should be fine with my shoes, but I'm not 100% convinced and at £70 they seem expensive when I can get white , siver or black M520's for £12.95 from ebay ...

So - for now I think I will stick with M520's ...

But white or black or silver ? ...

I think it's between white and black but can't decide - I prefer the white but the bike has SRAM Rival black groupset so think white might be wrong as the only other part of bike that's white is the frame and forks. All components are black or silver.

What do people think ?
