RIP to the 96 fellow football fans who died 21 years ago today.

Your team is not my team, but your families pain is our pain as fellow members of the football family.

Lest we forget the needless deaths on what should have been a day of celebration

    +1

chilling scenes played out on the TV
  • Attended the Celtic - Liverpool memorial game shortly afterwards, there were fans from many a club North & south of the border present in Glasgow that day.

Will take a moment shortly after 3pm to remember all those who needlessly departed on that fateful day.

we don't, nor Bradford but that doesn't meant that we can't take a moment to respect the memory of 96 people who just went to watch a football match one Saturday.

I attended the service at Anfield today.

Seeing the grown men who I sing and chant with on the Kop break down in tears and families in floods of tears 21 years after the event really hits home how this has impacted upon everyone.

Not just adults, children died and some of the people I was stood with today were witness to it.

I think it's horrible that any football fans going to the match on a Saturday afternoon would never come back, for me that's what it is really about.

It's tragic 96 lost their lives 21 years ago today, the only good to come from it is the level of safety we all have on match days whichever team we see or follow.

Every time I pass the memorial it brings tears to my eyes.
Seeing all those names, so young, doing what we do - just going to support their team in a football match.
