Hi all,

Can someone please turn off the wind & cold please & crank the thermostat up for a bit of sun. I'm still wearing my winter jacket in the mornings at the moment !

    Right with you shedhead.

Why, even when coming from a warm/hot area is the wind cold by the time it gets to me??

    Y'day perfect example - out of wind warm 13 / 14 degrees in wind 7 / 8 feeling like -6.

Been away in the warm, it feels bloody cold here to me.... hoping that the 17c forecast actually happens tomorrow! That's if the sun isn't blocked out by huge clouds of lung killing dust!

Where's summer? A couple of months away, for now enjoy the beautiful spring. Then, come summer, you can start moaning that it's to hot
  • It was 2 degrees when I woke up, I dressed up accordingly and left early and bit by bit I managed to thoroughly toast myself. That's the first time I've been really warm this year. Lovely!

Immense thanks to the chap who popped back up the street to his house in Ladywell to get a spare inner tube - I got a puncture that was too slow to locate by the street, slipped on the spare tube that I was carrying and promptly decapitated the valve. True gentleman, and he and his partner refused to take any money for it. They said, ''Other time's it's been us.''

It's been a beautiful day in Manchester, it's really cheered me up. :) Went for a 1.5hr jaunt round Dunham Massey, Lymm and Tatton Park (would have cycled for longer but I have an exam in about a week, and my knee's slightly dodgy at the mo). Wish I'd taken a camera. Oh, and the tan lines are making a return! :D

Pokerface (in case you look at this thread again), were you cycling between Wilmslow and Northenden at about 4pm on Thursday? I was cycling south along Park Road (the one which turns into Styal Road when it gets closer to Wilmslow) and, just as it goes over the M56 I saw a roadie coming in the opposite direction who had an artificial lower right leg. If it was you, hello!

...and midsummer's day is 24th June. End of summer must therefore be, by definition, 27th June.

That makes it the shortest of all seasons. Fact.
