numb privates

I am basically a mountain biker but have started to get into road riding a bit more recently but have been suffering from numbness in the private region on the road bike. the pain tends to be in the tip of my penis rather than in the balls which i tend to see a lot of people suffering from. Is there something i can do regarding saddle position or getting a new saddle? I'm wearing the same padded shorts as i do for mtbing where i dont have an issue. The pain goes away if i stand up and pedal for a minute or two and the pain does not stay after i get off the bike. Any tips would be great. Thanks

Definately saddle position causing pressure onto your nerves and blood supply. Have you tried just altering the angle slightly downwards. Not to much though as you'll be sliding downwards then. Also you may need to bring your saddle slightly forward so your sitting more on your seat bones rather than your perineum.
Failing that it could be that your saddle doesn't suit you, but try changing its position first.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

The Specialized Toupe saddle is designed to reduce pressure in this region, nerves, blood vessels etc. It works for me but saddles are a personal thing. But try Fungus's good advice first before going down the saddle route..

If you have a particularly long penis, it could get caught in the rear spokes while cycling naked. Best to increase the seat height gradually until this stops happening.Scott Scale 20 (for xc racing)

I'll bet my mortgage you seat is either too high or is pointing upwards a little too much.0

I had the same problem this weekend, but that was on a long climb where I stayed seated all the way. Had it once over a year ago, so altered my seat angle and that fixed it.0

I have come over from mountain biking and these road bikes are a pain in the arse compared Seat to high or low ... Knees front and back problems, back problems ... Saddle high low..back or forth ... dead pecker ..more knee problems ...quad problems ... Cleats positions .... etc etc etc ...
But these bikes are great fun and VERY addictive 8)0 -
Had the same problem as well. Tried three or four different saddles then after all the recommendations for the Specilaized Toupe forked out the wad .
It was worth it though no more numbness just sore sit bones till I get used to it  .
Keep trying0
