Which one gives you wood?

Heart says Felt F3: more bling, gives me a mild hard-on

Head says CR1 Pro better all rounder and will be nicer to my back

I've an 08 Felt F3 (dura ace) & love it - way better than me! I can't comment on the Scott.

Great value & Fab frame - I'm not sure i'd notice a better frame under me...and i'm racing...

Thanks Moonshine. I know at this price point, I'm gonna get a damn good bike, my anxiety I suppose is that I want an all rounder, and the Felt might be a bit too aggressive.

I've tested the CR1 and it was lovely. Did't really excite me though. One issue I had with it is that the top tube is very wide and I'm not! My knees tended to knock the top tube so I probably wouldn't have gone for it even if I hadn't been smitten with a Look :D

Have you considered the Cube Agree?

The 2010 model looks really good and with Ultegra at a good price.

Going for a test on one this weekend

thanks for the advice all. The Cube Agree is a very nice looking bike - but it doesn't make my pulse quicken quite as much the Felt.

Blooming eck Westerberg it seems every week your picking a different VS different
But that Scott keeps coming back doesn`t it
Drop the felt and set your sights back on a cannondale or a Scott. neither will disappoint.
I have an Addict, but i would have a Cannondale as well if i could spare the cash.

dude, I keep ordering but the ones I want are never in stock (Cannondale, Bianchi.....) this is why I'm still here :)

Out of interest, why drop the Felt? Is it the colour? C+ raved about it.

Well ive rode one felt in 2005 and it kind of put me of the brand. Maybe that was just my take on things.Ive just browsed over the spec sheet of the Felt and it`s quite impressive for the money.

There is the self build option also.

    Groupset

Wheelset Tune hubs (gigantex 50mm tubs or irc cadence) built to spec.

That would leave you quite abit of your budget to use on the finishing kit.and a real sense of achievement building it up yourself.Just some food for thought.
Ive been building my own its been an exciting project. :D

I have a Felt F1 and its great ... My previous best bike is a Spesh Roubaix that I have done a lot of sportives on. I was afraid the Felt might be to ' full on ' but with a flipped stem to bring the bars up higher it has been fine.. Maybe not as comfy as the Roubaix but certainly not overly harsh at all.. I thought the steering was slower than the Roubaixbut once I got used to it I prefer it - seems more planted & less twitchy ... I think the Felt's don't seem to get much love on here - and I don't see too many on the roads.. I think that colour scheme on the Felt looks ace - looks a lot better / faster than the Scott

the new cr1 is a lovely bike, the wishbone seatstays really seem to take out the road buzz in comparison to the earlier ones.

Ok, stupid Q but.....what is a flipped stem and what does it do - raises the bars slightly I guess - does this have the same effect as using spacers?

I think he means just removing the existing stem and puttin it back on upside down- if you look at the angle of the stem relative to the steerer tube it bolts too you'll see that this would result in the bars being higher.

ive had a Scott CR1 Pro since Nov 2006 and done nearly 7000 miles on it and no problems and if anything happened to it, say if it got nicked i,d have another one, the latest ones have supposedly better comfort over the earlier versions, but ive done about 20 rides between 60 and 90 miles on mine and never had any comfort issues, the Felt looks more race orientated, look how close the downtube is to the front wheel compared to the Scott, me i,d have the CR1 even though the Felt looks slightly more bling.

The geommetry of the new CR1 is more Sportive oriented. I have longish legs, shortish torso so Sportive probably gets me a relatively racier fit than it does for most people. The longer your torso, relative to legs, the more upright you'll be on any frame so your feeling of comfort is as much down to your shape as that of the bike.

(flips a coin) Felt wins! Ordered. Thanks for the input folks. Final decision, no more interminable 'this vs this' threads - promise.
