Where to spend a weekend?!

I am trying to organise a weekend trip somewhere thats not too far from me and was after some advice.

I am going with a couple of mates leaving the Macclesfield area and want to do two rides (One Saturday one Sunday). We are looking for two that are a similar length and ability level to the Marin Trail in Wales but fancy a change of scenery (from North Wales).

Would preferably want them to be pretty close to each other and within 3 hours from Macclesfield.

Also rides that are waymarked would be a bonus so we can enjoy the riding and not have to worry about much map reading.

Campsite reccomendations are welcomed too :]

Thanks!

It's only 3 and a quarter hours (according to google, so less in real life) to Mabie and Ae and a half hour Dalbeattie and Kirroughtree.

Glentress, Inners is about 4 hours away.

    Scotland's nearer than you think.
  • Mabie and Ae sounds like a great plan! Thanks.

Do you know any good B&Bs / Campsites round there?

    Oh yes I do.

Bunkhouses with hot-tubs. Camping in the forest. 10 minutes from the Mabie trails. Cheap. Meals.

Go for it. Just don't forget the Avon Skin So Soft.

Wish I was coming with you now.

If you go to Mabie, don't miss out Dalbeattie! its only 20 mins drive and is one of the best of the stanes.

The red route at Dalbeattie is my favourite :D
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Riding a gorgeous ano orange Turner Burner!
