Having just had a shock serviced by mojo i would disagree, i think evans will do a shock service for £45ish, at the price mojo charge you can nearly get a new shock, Floats go for £110 on CRC.

Unless it's a waranty job then sen it to mojo :D

not getting the back one done getting the front one.

I would never get the rear serviced, would but new for like 110 like you said and sell the old one on ebay as is.

But I have F100RL on the front so 100.00 might be about right TBH

Why does it cost 100.00 to service just forks for that, and you can get a whole car serived for that.

    I think they take advantage.

You could lift the seals and see if there is anything obviously amiss, but otherwise have to agree with sending it for a service.

Some fork oil coming out when you let the air out isn't uncommon. Unless there's buckets of it.

You also have to factor in the time it takes to do the job.I changed the oil & air filters and the oil in my car recently, and it took less than half an hour,I reckon stripping down the forks would take longer than that

45 mins to an hour (after a bit of practice). Price also includes parts (new seals/wipers/o-rings/oil and fluid) and expertise. They can inspect various parts and tell what's wrong, most can't (even those who are comfortable servicing a fork).

I recently had my Front and Rear shocks serviced by TF Tuned. Cost £90 for each so nearly £180 in total. Worth every penny in my book. It was first the first time in four years I've ever had anything on my bike in for a service and did it for a matter just keeping the bike in good shape.

The forks came back very plush felt like they were new, I had scratches on my Stanchions, they were gone and the forks felt so more alive, and my rear shock, to be honest I think they gave me a brand new one, it looked it had been replaced as it was gleaming and no scratches on any of the metal work etc. My Stumpjumper after four years feels like a new bike, for £200 that aint bad.

Do forks really need to be done every year?

Now that I put the rebound right they seem ok, I know about warranty but apart from that is it a must?

It's not a must, but IME the seals on Fox aren't that great and you'll probably have all sorts of crud in the lowers. The foam o-rings will probably be very dirty and almost dry too - which can be bad news for your stanchions.

If you're a half decent mechanic it's pretty easy to lift the seals and take a look. You can get a pillow pack of Fox Float Fluid for 99p, which is enough to lube both foam o-rings. Fox website has instructions complete with photos.

    Hope this helps

My Rebas are at Evans now for a service. They can replace the oil seal for £35 (probably whats wrong with yours) or do a full service for £65

Ive noticed there are a LOT of threads on here regarding Rockshox! Reliability problem??
