I am building up an Enigma Eclipse and have the option of either fitting Dura Ace 7800 10 speed sti's and duraillers or fit the new Ultegra 6700.

Which would people go for and why?

If money no problem dura ace, if you want to save with little difference in performance and weight, get ultegra.

It depends on how you feel about exposed or hidden cables. If you want the latter it has to be the Ultegra. If you don't mind them go for 7800 Dura-ace.
Personaly I would get Ultegra SL 6600 and spend the saved money on better wheels. I can not see how 7800 will be noticably better than my Ultegra SL which seems to be flawless.

I've just fitted Ultegra 6700 and have to say they feel great.
I had 105 before on my winter bike which these are fitted to.They feel nearly as nice as my Centaur ultrashift levers on my best bike.
The hood shape is vastly improved in my opinion.

I'm going for 7800 a) because I know it will work beautifully and b) because the subtle branding and understated looks suit my steel frame. I tried ultegra sl, although I like the finish it looked wrong on my bike. The 7800 looks sex. I'm sure they all function perfectly.

I personally find the new 7900 and 6700 a bit on the fugly side.
