.... I'm rather impressed with my new build. The frame weighs in at an amazing 1080g! The build weight without pedals is 7.15kg.

I've build the frameset up with components I already had, so I'm sure Italian and Campag lovers will be quick to blast the Bontrager parts, but they do work oh so very well.

Time for a spin to put it to the test.

Parts used:

F&F Planet X SL Carbon
Wheels - Bontrager Race-X-Lite
Headset FSA Orbit CE (tat)
Bars - Bontrager Race Lite 42cm c-c
Stem - Ritchey WCS 4 Axis, 110mm
Bar Tape - Cinelli cork ribbon
Shifters/Brake levers - SRAM Rival
Rear Mech - SRAM Rival
Front Mech - SRAM Force
Brake Calipers - SRAM Force
Cassette - SRAM PG1070
Chainset - Bontrager Race-X-Lite Carbon
Seatpost - Bontrager Race-X-Lite
Saddle - Bontrager Race-X-Lite
Seat Clamp - KCNC
Bottle Cages - Bontrager
Pedals - Time RXS

nice. It's one of those bikes that looks loads better in the flesh too, pics don't seem to do them justice.

wheels look cool on the frame

    Wow certainly works in black.

I've saved the picture on my laptop - I've a black and white CAAD9 which one day I'll pimp up a bit and the colour scheme you have with a splash red looks fine 8).

The wheels are nice - those spokes look great.

I have another pair on my Madone. The hubs are DT Swiss 240's, a fantastic set of wheels and a nice alternative to Mavic Ksyriums.......

I'll have to get a group photo of the fleet!

I had a quick blast on this yesterday albeit in trainers but I was impressed with the frame. Nice and stiff and bloody light too considering it's not built up with weight weenie parts and wheels.

The wheels look brilliant with it btw! The whole thing works even better in the flesh...
  • Pretty nice considering I have one as well that same color. Nice work.
