Rides around Ingleton
Hi there,
I'm off for a week at the end of July based in Ingleton (about 20miles SE of Kendal) and wondered whether there was anything worth riding there (other than driving out to the lakes...)
I'll be with the wife and some friends who aren't into biking yet, so want some rides that I can do before breakfast or while dinner is cooking...
Stuff further away is also worth knowing, just in case I persuade them to hire bikes for a day or 2!
Ta!

Some nice tracks round there, in fact there's absolutely loads. They do get full of the red sock brigade, but most of them are quite wide tracks. I can send you some gpx files if you like.0

I don't have a garmin or equivalent. Are they readable by anything else?0

Try here:

They have PDFs that you can view and print and there's a few within driving distance of Ingleton. If you're doing nowt else the waterfall walk is worth a look.0 -
Get yourself a copy of the Yorkshire Dales Mountain Biking Guide for starters.
I used to regularly do a weeks holiday in the Dales and there's loads of quality routes not far from Ingleton. Horton in Ribblesdale is just down the road and there's a few good loops you can do from there.0
