Summer mitts advice please...!!

With the onset of last winter, I lost ONE mitt. Bright blue Specialized BG Sport or something I think.

Did the job but annoyed that the velcro gave up the ghost quite quickly and just never stuck the wrist tab on securely, leaving the thing flapping about like a chicken facing the chop!

Don't know if anyone's had the same problem, but if so then maybe I'll steer clear of Specialized mitts.

Quite liking the Gore Retro Tech Mitts....mmmm....but obviously expensive.

Other comfy/funky options out there? Any bones you can throw me much appreciated....!! 8)

Not had an issue with the velcro on my Spesh gloves (have 2 pairs of long fingered and 3 pairs of short-fingered, varying from 3 years to 6 months old). Recently bought some long-fingered Giro Monaco gloves and they're nice but I still think the Spesh ones have the edge.

My Etxeondo mitts don't have a wrist tab, so they're very comfy. The new Prendas ones look a very similar design.

I've got Specialized mitts and the velcro is fine after a year or so use (mtb & road). Gel is pretty comfy too, so would buy again.
  • Thanks guys, picked these up today though;

No substitute for trying something on physically, and when I did, well I guess I just have Spesh hands. Most important for me, there's no seam on the inside of the thumb to cause irritation.

Pricy but like a helmet, just one of those things you shouldn't scrimp on. Monkeypump and nferrar, hoping the velcro holds up this time. Felt a bit more confident getting these after reading your posts.

    Cheers

I've always been happy with Endura FS260 aerogel mitts, but want a pair of Giro Monaco mitts for this summer. They are just sooooooo comfy.

I have a pair too, they are okay but I find them a bit bulky.
  • I have some Giro bravo mitts. I've had them for a full year now and decided I need to change them as they just aren't doing the trick for me.

I was looking at these babies
    Mavic infinity gloves

They seem goo if a bit pricey. Has anyone used these?

If I do I'll get them in white as I haven't got any yellow kit to wear them with. Yet!

I had some spesh BG ones, two seasons and they are still holding tight with the velcro, had a seem go slightly now mind you but after 2 years still very good condition (and a quick sow up sorted the seam)

If it went quickly I would of been tempted to send it back!, presume its to late

For the authentic Bananaman look, you need blue kit to go with yellow gloves and shoes...

To the OP: my Spesh BG Mitts were awful as the velcro died after only a few months. I'm going order some of the Prendas ones.
