I hope they lock the guy up for a LONG time! What's scarier is that I go round that roundabout on my commute......it's just round the corner from my house.

Holy Sh1t, that's about 400 yards from my front door. You always get the odd car hammering down there, despite being a 30 limit. Makes you think.0

I only heard about it by chance on the news this evening. Had no idea it had happened til then and I live about 800 yards away0

It's disgusting. Not a great advert for a cycling demonstration town is it. Poor bloke.0

On Saturday I was riding up through Aston Clinton in the cycle lane, up the drag to the roundabout, when a builders transit beeped me from behind then swerved to try to hit me off!!!
I am thinking of carrying something to throw at such drivers !!0 -

I'd recommend a .50 cal, but that extra weight on a road bike might be frowned uponScience adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

A James Bond bicycle would obviously use a steel top tube as a rifle bore, thereby saving the need for additional weight.
But on a serious note, like guiliano and APIII, I regularly pass the site of a recent hit-and-run cycling fatality and it always gives me a shiver and pushes up my heart rate. I even thought for a while about taking an alternative route but that would have meant that the vehicle had won out over the cyclist and I think passing that way serves to focus the mind about the dangers we can face. It also might remind drivers that it's not only them who have a right to be there and that there are other users they have to look out for.0 -
I'm shocked as I've just moved to the area and coming from London I've noticed that drivers are quite good to cyclists (although you always get the odd one).
Sad shame and hits home how unsafe it can be.There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...

Welcome to the area Drew.
Withe the amount of locals on here we really should organise a ride at some point.0 -
I was thinking the same. There's at least 4 from LB on the forum, another couple from Dunstable. I'm planning on 60-70 miles in the Chilterns Saturday morning if anyone's up for it.0

I wish..... I have to work Saturdays. I'm free Sunday, then I have next Saturday as a day's holiday0

APIII I would love to but I'm off to see Cardiff City at QPR on Sat. Oldwelshman has also got in touch about going for a ride. There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...
