The London 10:23 Homeopathy Overdose

The issue is that... Homeopathy is an unscientific and absurd pseudoscience, yet it persists today as an accepted complementary medicine.

Ask many people what they think homeopathy is, and you'll be told "it's herbal medicine" or "it's all-natural". Few realise that it's been proven not to work; even fewer know it involves substances so dilute that there's nothing left in them. Homeopathy takes advantage of this uncertainty to sit alongside real, proven medicines on the shelves of our major pharmacies.

Essentially homeopathy has been built up from nostalgic olde worlde remedies into a profitable strand of consumerist culture, a marketing trend sold by retail businesses to gullible wishful-thinkers.

  • The funny thing is, you'll hear people making statements like "well it#s been curing people for thousands of years". Well it hasn't been curing people and it's only a couple of hundred years old.

Chiropractic (which says you can cure asthma by manipulating the spine) is even younger I think. Maybe only 120 years.

All of these alternative treatments have proved to be safe and effective ways of treating middle-class people who feel a bit off and have too much money.

I'm not sure I agree with the 10:23 thing. Some homeopaths will say "See - there are no side effects". Maybe we should challenge them to take a massive underdose.
