I saw this the other day, really enjoyed it, but...
Without giving the plot away, who the hell is the dark haired women he sees?

The film, as good as it is for a low budget movie, doesn't explain it at all.

Anyone from the dark side of the moon know who she was?
Pink Floyd fans might...

I saw this last year - with the director Duncan Jones (formerly known as Zowie Bowie :D ) giving a little talk about making it.

There was definitely a reason for the girl - someone asked in the Q&A and DJ talked at some length about what it was about.

I can't remember a thing about it now though.

As I have it on DVD - I'll see if it says on the commentary. If it comes back to me I'll let you know.

Good film though wasn't it? :D

you could try Tweeting the director at http://twitter.com/manMadeMoon - he might give you an answer.

It's ok, I now know who she was/is.

Good film though, bit like 2001 and Solaris.
SFX...I've seen better, but the story line covers up any short-falls.

    Spooky movie...

dammit - I'm still going to watch it again - only bought it at the weekend.

Like I need an excuse.

I might be asking you the same question tomorrow - if I can't remember what the girl was all about. :o

Jones quoted Outland, Solaris, 2001 and Silent Running as his chief influences. None of those should be too much of a surprise to anyone whose seen it.

The special effects are remarkable when you consider the budget was more like the BBC spends on a series like Blakes Seven or Dr Who, than for a full on Sci Fi feature film.

Blake Seven? Filmed in Legoland probably and Dr Who's were allegedly done at one time in the BBC Studios in Broadway, Roath ,Cardiff. Late 60's...

I think the Buster Crabb "Flash Gordon" effects were better that Blake Sevens, including the lighted fireworks stuck to the back of a cardboard rocket, lol !!!

Moon: Yeah, great film, not up to "Bladerunners" level, but good spooky storyline and twists to keep you glued to the screen.

The girl does make an important entry into the film, but I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone!

I was really pleased to see it early on before anyone could spoil the plot for me....but I haven't heard or seen any spoilers in the past year or so - people seem to be being really respectful to this film. Good thing too.

and I'm not going to start with the spoilers here.
