Hi all,
Well I've seen the whole 'Racing with gloves causes more drag than racing gloveless'
e.g. in this article : http://www.masters-athlete.com/public/725.cfm
Now on a clothes supplier i've recently seen they offer time trial gloves, made from the same material as skin suits... supposedly faster, same theory as long sleeve skin suits....
http://champ-sys.co.uk/custom/cycling/a ... loves.html
Has anyon come across these in the past or used a pair from this or another supplier.
I have googled around, but found nothing. Not in any rush, looknig already for end of the season on a fast course to get ever second
Bit sceptical, but then skin suits are widely used for the aero benefit
Cheers
Will

There's an aero glove made by Castelli I think, it'll set you back around about £30.
Or could you not just use rubber gloves used for gardening/working on your bike/car maintenance etc?0 -
cheers about the glove manafacture and the idea of rubber gloves sweaty maybe though lol0

Pearl Izumi also make an allegedly aero glove ..

Very jazzy.
If i worked in marketing i would rename them the nano-carbon-ti-aero-pro glove, then everyone would buy them.0 -
hehe yes would make a fortune!
I can barely justify something like an 'aero' glove.
I was riding glove less last season, but an accident end of the season has left me with one very tender wrist after a smashed join, pins and polly filler (no joke, some bone subsitute to smooth out the joint), and have recently been riding without gloves, and well it doesnt help the wrist!
Well thats my story and im sticking to it
Same ecuse for carbon stem and bars lol0 -
oh the Castelli ones, you can get cervelo team ones! im sold lol0
-
I doubt aero gloves would offer much protection in a crash, but yes the Castelli ones are nice0
-
dont want another crash! that is for sure
Just want the padding to absorb some of the buzz and vibrations, mind you I may not need it, carbon stem and bars for the TT bike this season (picking them up saturday)
Still they look good!0 -
Maybe ask a few triathletes. It's a well know fact that they will buy pretty much anything.
I'd be skeptical too, even if I wasn't already "over the top" skeptical of pretty much everything.0 -

We're in too much of a hurry for putting gloves on Dennis0 -

........but I thought it was an unwritten law that you guys HAD to have stuff like that.
Otherwise the Tri-Federation wouldn't issue you a racing licence.0 -
if you have time to put gloves on during a tri you must be either really really quick and have time to burn or so bad it doesnt matter whether or not you stop for a pint half way through.
i try to resist the allure of the shiny shiny things but they are all sooo shiny .. and make you 0.002 seconds faster over a 40K TT if you believe the hype .. go on, buy some !!0
