Hi,
This is a ride up that's designed to get some hills into people's legs. It's 85 miles, 2224m of climbing.
Date: Sunday 25 April
Start: 9:30am
Start location: Pizza Express, Prestwich
130 Bury New Road, Prestwich, M25 0AA
http://tinyurl.com/wheelers-club-runs-prestwich
Highlights are:
Ashworth Valley Road: 3.2 miles, 205m of climbing
Todmorden Road: 1.9 miles, 142m climbing
Cragg Bank: 5.9 miles, 313m climbing - longest continuous gradient in Britain
Todmorden Road in reverse: 2.5 miles, 211m climbing
Haslingden to Broadhead Road: 4.6 miles, 210m of climbing
plus some nasty surprises. There are two sections of cobbles at the end to add to the pleasure, Old Hall Lane in Whitefield being the nicest: http://bit.ly/bOYdtJ (Don't worry, they won't knacker your bike, only your fillings.)
Pace: steady and sociable, no-one left behind. Two potential cafe stops. Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/54336
All welcome, hope you can make it! PM me with any queries, comments, hate mail etc.

If I'm not working then count me in. I live in Heywood so Ashy valley is one of my local and fave rides.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

If I wasn't doing a sportive on that day I'd love to come. Ashworth Valley is lovely and part of my usual route.0
