Some idea of budget may help0

fair point
Well the bike cost me about 400 so i think it would be daft to be paying more than that
Unless of course you would recomend it?0 -
Wheels would be a good place to start.
Planet X model B's are well thought of on this forum (but I have never had a pair). They would set you back £100.
Alternatively you could look for a good second-hand bike on Ebay with a good frame, and look to upgrade the components at a later date.0 -
Wheels, Tyres, Inner tubes - maybe a new saddle ? - different type of handlebar ? Assume you've already got carbon forks ?
If you've got stock SCR or Defy wheels, then upgrade them.
What are your current Wheels and Tyres ?0 -

New wheels and tyres as suggested if your busting a gut to spend some cash
If it were me I would also consider just riding the bike as is during the summer, save some money up and then look at a whole new bike, the one you have now could then be your winter trainer, you could then keep an eye out in the sales for a reduced 2010 model, so you have a nice new shiny stead for next spring0 -
Hi, I've had my SCR3 for 3 years now and have just got a set of PX models B's to put on it. It's the first real upgrade I've made to it apart from tyres. Really love the bike, would obviously get better/lighter bike if I could afford it and keep SCR3 as winter bike, was banking on my company running the CTW scheme this year but looks like the tight ba***rds are not going to after all.
The SCR3 has been a great entry level bike for me, I've used it on 100 mile sportives (Dragon, Pembroke, Abergavenny etc) and also took it up Alpe D'uez last year and looks like it'll be coming with me up the Tourmalet this year.
All I've changed on it so far are wheel bearings, chains x3, bottom bracket bearing, tyres, cables, brake blocks and the odd spoke, will be fitting the new PX wheels this weekend to try out ready for the spring sportives.0 -
i have an scr 1.5 so slightly different spec from the start i know
but all i've upgraded on mine is the saddle and the wheels and they were hand me downs from my other bike. they will make the biggest difference in upgrades by far in my opinionCrafted in Italy apparantly0
