Gents,

Have a long one planned and need some shorts please.

Did 7 hours in saddle at the weekend and the last couple of hours were tough on the backside .

What you have as a recommendation please ?

I've got some DHB ones, Endura ones that came as a liner with Humvee shorts and Endura 3/4 tights. All are fine. The Endura ones feel better made than the DHBs, but at £40 vs £13 they should do.

I'd say take a punt on the DHB shorts, for £13 it's better to find out that they're 'okay but not great' and save them for shorter rides, than it is to spend £50+ on a fancy pair that turn out to be no better than the DHBs.

Depends on how much you want to spend? Like has been said the more you spend the better the quality, i have some specialized bib shorts which cost about 70ish i think but they are by far the most comfy pair i have, i also have some enduras and some cheaper spesh 1's which are ok but on the longer rides i tend to go for the bib shorts.

TBH, based upon the ride on Sat, i'll pay whatever it takes LOL.

Well you won't really know until you try them, and as with saddles, everyones arrse is different.

Maybe get some chamois cream too. What saddle have you got?

It might even be worth asking the roadies! As they spend all day sitting down on a long ride, so their backsides get more use than us manly mountainbikers.

I've got a couple of pairs of Endura Humvee's although the inner liner is starting to go, but thats after a couple of years good use. I find them really comfortable, although if you don't get out on the bike often enough you arse will still hurt no matter how thick the paddding.....

I have some Karimor padded shorts from Sports Direct that were £9.99 and my rear end has never felt so good after a long pounding.

They are better than the ones that came with my Endura in my opinion
