What next for rebuild?

Got my wheels for the rebuild last week. Now it's starting to look like a bike again + I can sit on it for the first time since stripping it down :D

Just wondering what to buy next. I'm thinking cassette. Then maybe the rear mech/front deraillieur sets. Then the disc brakes ..... then I'll almost be ready to ride I think! :P Fantastic. Can't wait for the maiden voyage :wink: Any advice on chainsets & rear mechs? I'm thinking of going for an SRAM rear mech. Can I use a Shimano chain with this or does it have to be an SRAM? Anything else I need to know or advice on this front? Cheers.

    you already have a chainset.

    what you need is a chain,rear and front mech,shifters,cables and brakes.
    whats your budget on the rest of the drivetrain?

    Doh! I meant to put cassette (got a bit mixed up there! :?)

    Don't really have a budget. Been looking at Shimano Deore stuff. I think that will do me as it goes. Might just go for that over the SRAM stuff. No idea what I need to buy though! Lots of different front derailleurs. Which one do I need?! Bit confusing. Same story with the rear mech. Bit confused about that as well. I think I need a 9spd cassette ...... but what size?! 11-32, 11-28, 12-36?! Confusing all this bike stuff :shock:

    Cool. Thanks for the info. Top swing sounds right. I know that much :?

    One of these front derailleur should do it I think;

    I was thinking Elixir 5 brakes myself. Really like the look of these & they are well priced as well. Especially like the look of these white Elixir 5's for the rebuild :wink:

    X7 stuff looks good. Think I might give that a go all round (shifters, front derailuer, rear mech) ...... but short, medium or long cage on the rear mech?! Huh?!! :? I think I need the top swing front derailuer but I just need to double check this before ordering. Should i go for a SRAM 9sp cassette as well? What about the chain? Does this matter what brand it is?

    you need long cage rear mech, because you have 3 rings upfront

    Ah, I see now. I knew there had to be a logical reason for the different sizes. Cheers.
