Hi all,

I have a Focus Cayo and recently the handlebars have started to creak when I ride out of the saddle. It's fine when I'm seated.

Any ideas on what the problem could be (and how to fix it)?

Can't really help - but don't assume anything - could be bar (carbon - cracked?), brake levers, stem - either end, headset top or bottom, bottom bracket, chain wheel cog bolts...
I had a creaking noise that came from the bars/stem area - turned out to be a cracked seat post - the sounds went along the top tube... Carbon paste could be used if the creak is carbon on carbon/metal. Do not over-tighten to try to eliminated creaks - just bring up to correct torque after dismantle/clean/grease(if appropriate).

Check your front wheel QR. Put a little grease on either side of the drop-outs. Check the rear as well. Noises travel and never seem to come from where you think. Someone riding beside you will probably pin point it better than you.
It won't be the seat post if it only happens when you are out of the saddle.

I have been taking the front wheel out a bit recently to put timing chips in etc. I'll give that a go tonight.
