Hey, I've noticed over the last few times i've been out on my bike that my rear brake has gone very soft. I can now almost pull the lever to the grip and the bite on the disk isnt as good as it has been. The wheel can still turn if i have my weight over the rear. I've spoke to evans and they said i need new brakes but im not too sure as there less than six monthes old and the front is still amazing. Any ideas as im starting to worry this is gonna get costly!
Cheers

Sounds like it needs a bleed - has it leaked anywhere?0

Not that i can see would it just be around the calliper or the lever area? Is this a common problem on the juicy 3's? Evans said they'd bleed it but it might not help and they would still have to charge me. Is it worth the risk?0

It shouldn't cost much for a bleed - and if it doesn't work then the system is faulty and your warranty will cover that.0

My LBS said that the 3's are one of the hardest brakes to get a good bleed on! There is a lever adjustment screw somewhere around the lever... needs a small allen key. Give that a fiddle as it seemed to sort mine out way back when,..0

cool i'll get them bled then see what that does. The lever adjustment I've looked into but theres 2 screws inside and i've no idea which is which. Thanks for all the replys's though!0

As far as I know... there is only 1 alley key adjuster. Tis a very very small allen key though!0

Sorry i'm a little rubbish at explaining. Theres an allen key right under the lever or theres one on what looks like a circular thing closer to the bars. Which is which?0

Yes i believe it is!!!0 -
So is it easy to adjust?0
-
yup... just turn it
It moves the lever closer/further from the bars. Just make sure you don't move it too far away otherwise you won't be able to reach them0 -
ahh right so turn one way it moves it further away the other moves it closer. I guess I have to find a nice middle ground?
Thanks alot for your help!0 -
Yep. Move it out as far as comfortable to see if it improves.0

I need a l shaped allen key so i'll do it at work tommorow. Thanks for the help everyone!0
