Commuting to Lowestoft

Does anyone commute to Lowestoft.
At present I do a round trip of 20 miles by bike, I will be moving to Suffolk to work in Lowestoft, and will be living about 18/19 miles away in Halesworth. I just don't think I can do a cycle commute of 36 + miles a day and work.
I thought about driving half way and parking. The only alternative is to drive and I have been told that parking in Lowestoft is a nightmare and expensive.
Any experience of Lowestoft or suggestions

How about taking the train to Beccles? I've travelled from Ipswich to Lowestoft a couple of times with my bike and they seem to have racks on most of them.Dolan Preffisio
