Shhh! Wouldn't want to spoil a great occasion with too much reality now.0 -
I've not decided yet, but I'll always pick something with fairly long odds in the National. (50/1 or higher). It's a bit of a lottery so you never know.
I like the idea of a bet on the first horse to die, but it could never happen as the PC brigade would only be whinging like banshees.0 -
Niche Market is my nap for nationalLife is not a spectator sport0

Smokin Joe: Given the history of the National, an each-way on something from 50/1 to 66/1 can be a good choice.
And if horses die ... well they hold up the traffic, they don't have insurance and they don't pay road tax.0 -
£5 win on Niche Market for me. 22/1 on Betfair.
£3 on Vansummeren for tomorrow too at 100/1, but no-one's taken it yet.0 -

Actually, the plan is that they fund me when Niche Market romps home for a 10 length victory.0 -
Crap happens.
Race horses lead a good life in general, well looked after and they enjoy what they do. Most lead better lives than your average animal and they can look forward to a long and comfortable retirement with plenty of shagging for the successful ones.0 -

A total of zero deaths in the National today. Alfablue must be devastated. As one who used to work in Horse Racing, NOWHERE are horses better treated than in the racing industry.0

anyway...i backed the winner good early odds this morning and a tasteful return. My mother also went for him on E/W and she picked up £29 off a £1 stake. I got a little more

Watch out it's the devil (with an extra 6)
I never bet, got a 'red hot tip' for a horse called right of passage at some race a few weeks back, my colleague put 20 quid on and a mate put 20 quid on, horse lost. Hahawinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg
