When buying inner tubes, does the valve length make a real difference to :

Ksyrium Elites

Easton EA90 SLX

Both are alu clinchers, and about to buy tubes online but faced with lots of lengths. Whats the lowest I need to go, and the ideal?

I'm a long way from my Easton EA90 SLX wheels at the mo, but I'm sure they're Bontrager +/-47mm.
Different valve lengths for different depth of rim profile.
As long as they go through the rim, I don't think it matters how much 'extra' sticks out.
    Difference in price, though.

Iv'e got Ksyrium Elites, the front wheel has a longer valve than the rear, not sure of the sizes, but can i hell-as-like get my track pump on the rear valve! gonna have to change the tube for same size as front (the tubes were supplied on bike when bought)

Go for about 20mm more than your rim depth at least, most manufacturers 'short' valves are pretty useless on anything but flat profile rims in my experience.

I run 30mm rims with 47mm tubes, seems to work fine, had some 38mm I think before and they were a bugger.
