Pais Vasco Stage 5 *spoiler*
They've been racing for an hour now. So far Txurruka, Albasini and Kolobnev up the road with a 30 second lead as the race hits the main climb of the day.
It's another hill day with two sharp hills toward the end of the stage, watch the feed if you can as it should be a lively final 30 mins.

Amets nice and active as usual. The final climb is a steep one (Alto de Aia), and here is a more detailed profile of the climb

I saw lots of them walking - and loads of them just being pushed up by fans! Probably the only time a pro rider will actually LIKE getting a push from the fans!
Think one of them was Marco Pinotti be interesting to see if he can get up it ok today, Harmon and Maggie just bigging him up just now.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -

Kolobnev being used as a stepping stone, clever move. But still a long way to go.0
-
Txurruka has left the others of the first group alone, while J-Rod is quickly picking up the rest, heading downhill for the 2nd climb, 26% that one0
-
Gesink punctures, now a minute behind Valverde's group....0
-
Txurruka down!0

And he's a skidmark on the road!   :shock:0

Arghhhhhhhhh Txurruka slid out on a hairpin on the descent after dropping the rest of the lead group on the climb :-(
EDIT: How well do they know the course beforehand? From the helicopter footage it looked like he didn't realise it was a 180deg haipin until quite late?0 -
That looked painful.0
-
Yeah.. The way he just sat in the road.0

J-Rod alone, but the Valverde group, getting smaller, not far.... Gesink still behind after puncture at the unluckiest moment0
