But the big names don't turn up for that. Sure, Valverde won it a few years ago and Lance Armstrong did it once - but that's about it.

  • I dislike the snobbery being shown towards the TDF. It's still, to me at least - a much richer stage race then all the others I have watched. If nobody in the general public knew about the TDF it'd be winning hands down on here.

One day races..I like watching the world championships as it's good to see the normal support stripped away and redistributed amongst the big names. Much more interesting.

Everything on the road. If it's 'boys on bikes' whether on cobble or mountains, I love it. 'Spose Giro has a special place in my heart :D and PR in the rain. Tend to live in a bubble during the Tour as it is wall-to-wall.
Track leaves me cold. Last week it was on and the commenator said only a 100 laps to go - I lost the will to live and turned it off.

My favorite One Day Race it Lombardia, because it is beautiful.

Stage race is probably the Tour of Switzerland.

For stage racing it has to be the Tour. I think anyone who says otherwise is just an elitist snob. The Tour has the best riders of any event - GC guys, sprinters, everyone else.

The Giro may have a more fan friendly course, but mostly it's "a local race for local people". And I'm afraid I just can't be doing to Italians - not just in cycling, as a national as whole.

As to one day races, this, for me, comes down to personal circumstances. Most times I have hockey commitments clashing with MSR and the Ronde, but less so with Par-Rou. LBL seems to clash too. But even then I still love PR for it's uniqueness.
