Bad luck losing your dosh but good on you for taking it on the chin and making sure others don't suffer the same fate.
Outstanding effort Markyboy - well done.0 -
Guys, just a bit of closure on this one.
Can't get the email response I was hoping for from them, they are surely completeley bogus.
Tried a few times, even had a mate email them from a different account in local language, no response.
There is a cycling organisation here, B2W (Bike to Work). They seem to be well connected. I'll send the info regarding all of this to them and see if there is anything can be done to force them out into the open....
All the best.0 -
as every else as said, markyboy great effort in helping a fellow cyclist!
vladx and stolen_by_bonvelo.net, welcome to the forum, shame it's been in this circumstance! Hope you both get your money back.
If you did it via bank transfer does that not mean you have their bank details? Possible way for your bank (or someone else) to trace them?0 -
Great effort by markyboy2005. The world is a better place with people like you :!:0

Well done you, nice to know that there are people still out there prepared to help.
+1 - absolutely! Well done markyboy2005, so helpful in this chap's plight, well done man!!
+2 - Reading this thread was better then an episode of Magnum PI.0 -
Dear fellow bikers,
I did the same mistake as vladx did. I've ordered a beautiful Cube AMS Pro - R1 Mag 2009 from bonvelo.net and paid 1830 usd (1650 bike + 180 shipping). Since the payment on 03/23/2010, there is no bike and no answers.
The information I am missing in this discussion is the account I have paid to:
Account Name: Maswindra Mahawan
Address: Jl. Raya Pesanggrahan no. 24 C. Jakarta Barat
Account Number: 2872206982
Swift Code: CENAIDJA
Bank Name: BCA
Bank Address: Jl. MH. Thamrin No. 1, Jakarta – DKI, INDONESIA
markboy, I see you have put a lot of effort into this case, cannot you please try to find out something about this person?
I don't think I will ever get those money back. I just hope we will be able to stop this fraud and to put the bad guy to a prison (it is theft and a lot of money though).
Good luck.

Hi Michal,
Badluck mate. But don't be discouraged from buying over the net. There are some really good online stores. I think its a case of "if it looks too good to be true....." . Don;t think we will get our money back...although my bank is still trying!
I think this Maswindra has scammed alot of people and its obviously not his real name.
Ill be makign a purchase soon from www.chainreactioncycles.com. The Beone Briza 2010 looks the biz (105s) for about 1000 pounds!!. .....has anyone owned a Beone??

they say they use fed ex on there website
maybe talk to them to see if they have ever heard of the company?0 -
i have been snooping around a bit more and found the host for the website www.qwords.com
I have emailed the administrator and hopefully they can do something about shutting the site down.....hopefully0 -
This is why I use this site not only are questions answered in the best way and as accurate as possible but also how helpful the ppl are outside of the normal forums that are on the internet.
Nice one markyboy0 -
Credit for the work done, especially Markyboy*
But sadly it won't make much difference, the scammer will just pop up again at a different address (real and virtual)
The only answer is that the old principle of buyer beware is even more important on the net.
*but I have a theory that he's actually the scammer, and is even now sending "one of his drivers" out to buy $1100 worth of beer :twisted:0 -

Interesting point really hope your wrong though. But I suppose it's a way of throwing ppl off looking.0 -
Hi,
i have just read your posts and I have been hit by the same scam. The new site is called Cabiks.com, it is exactly the same as bonvelo.net, same bikes (cube), same bank details, i have just lost £1,600.
Not sure what I can do, the transfer has gone through.
I am gutted i now owe the bank and no bike!!!!10 -
Tip - get a CREDIT card for use solely on the Internet that gives you full access to your account online and adjust your credit limit to suit and large'ish purchases. You're covered against scams, but it pays to minimise your exposure.Purveyor of "up"0
