I have a roubaix elite which has FC4500 Tiagra crankset

It's already been back to the shop for the BB regreasing, and is making grinding noise again, , so given the minor cost I'm just going to buy a new set of BB cups

I'm thinking of fitting Dura Ace cups, as presumably they're higher quality ( and only £26 compared to £15 for Tiagra cups

Anyone know if these units are interchangeable?

Logically they should be, but you never know....

Come on, somebody must know the answer! I want to know as well; I was considering replacing my 105's with Ultegra if they ever wear out (reassuringly silent so far)

Yes, they're interchangeable. I've used DA/Ultegra/Tiagra together with no issues.

    Splendid!

I'll keep an eye open for some Ultegra in the sales.

Just been to my LBS and bought a set of 105 cups

He assures me that all Shimano cups ( Tiagra/105/Ultegra/Dura Ace ) are fully interchangeable

Whether there's any difference in performnace or longevity I don't know- suspect they all use the same bearings but the more expensive cups have better seals and/or are lighter

I'm surmising I need to apply a thin film of grease on the spindle shaft before sliding it home ( ooh matron )
