You're laying on the ground your bike on top of you and you realise the only reason you are in that position is down to your own stupidity.

When you can blame something else, a motorist, a pedestrian a wet man-hole cover etc it's not so bad but when it's down to just being a knob it just makes the pain that much worse.

Approaching a corner last night at the bottom of a hill I made the turn and realised to my horror I was going far too fast and had simply forgotten to brake before the turn so I'm hurtling towards a dividing kerb between the traffic flows so I panic and slam the brakes on super hard. This has the unintended effect of locking my wheels and skidding my rear wheel sideways catapaulting me off the side of the bike onto said kerb.

Cue nasty roadrash and multiple bruises and an overwhelming feeling that maybe I should've stayed at home.

Boo.

I hope that it's just your pride that's been dented. :)
I've occasionally run out of corner/ talent/ ability myself - especially when younger.

    The fault clearly lies with:

    1. The road planner
    2. The chaps who resurfaced the road
    3. The bike manufacturer for not fitting automatic brakes and stability control

    etc

You do raise a very important question though.....

When swearing is it "knob" or "nob"?

    I am never sure?
