Who are you going to vote for?

I'm a member of a non-cycling forum, and the Tories and BNP account for 69% of votes in their election poll, with Labour on 5%, so I'm posting a poll here to see how it compares to a forum of cyclists.
I think Labour and maybe the Greens would do better on here.
Thanks a lot.
Garry
Cycling is too nice to waste it on getting to work.

What forum is that, Neo-Nazies United?

Anyway to answer you question I dont know yet, either Green or Labour. The constituency I am in has a real chance of a the Green party winning (Brighton Pavilion) however if they don’t, my vote will be taken away from Labour making a tory get in instead.

  • No Option for, pointless voting where i live.

I think under the present system this option would get a high mark unfortunately.

No vote for me I think.

So want Labour out, but can't bring myself to vote Tory.
Can't agree with local income tax for the Lib Dems.

For first time won't be voting SNP, 2 reasons really. They are selling of too much of Scotland for Elite (not even the Scottish Elite) golf course's and ineffiecent windfarms. 2nd reason, does Salmond not just look like a fat cat/pig with his whiskers/snout in the trough!

I honestly don't know, for all kinds of reasons.

The main one being they're all too much alike and none of them have policies in line with my opinion of the way forward.

The fact is WHOEVER wins will have to up taxes and cut back on services. It's just a case of which section of society gets the boot stuck into them most post election.

BTW, we'll all be pig sick of the job by the time 6/5/2010 comes around.

I'll be cycling across Dartmoor on 6th May - so looks like I won't be able to get to the ballot after all. 8)

and judging by the results in the poll looks like BR users want a Lib Lab Green pact to run the country.
  • I also don;t know at the moment, but I'm erring towards Labour 'cos I think stability is what we need to keep dealing with the economy.

I agree - and vote for the lot who should have learnt some serious lessons by now.

I mean who really believes that the Tories are going to bring in strong banking regulations to stop bankers (Tory supporters, members, funders) from getting richer and richer and sucking all the cash out of the system.

the system is flawed - I will be voting for my local MP as he is excellent and a boost for my local area - but he is not a member of a party I would normally support

Who said BNP and UKIP. I knew it, cyclists.

I said Lib Dems but I really need to read their policies. As well as the Green Party (in more detail).

If undecided I'll spoil the paper.

  • I live in Bath and years ago there was a big push/campaign to tactically vote Lib Dem and get the Tories out. It worked and I hope people will vote the same way again. I'm originally a Londoner and for years voted Labour and still support them even though I will vote for Don Foster (Lib) because surely anything must be better than a bunch of fagging old Etonians running the country!

With Labour and the Conservatives being pretty much the same these days, and both UKIP and BNP just being too outlandish, I suppose its a toss-up between the Lib Dems and the Green Party.

But at the end of the day we're knackered whoever we vote for, because the economy's screwed. I don't really see a way that any noticeable improvement will happen in the next four years on that basis alone. We're all gonna get taxed more, pay out more, and earn less. Thank god for the bike!

I'm simply refusing to cast a vote as I just don't know what my local MP does and none of the candidates ever actually says what they stand for. It's a pretty safe Tory seat anyway and the vast majority of the electorate here feel excluded and ignored.

Lib Dem again. We have a boundary change coming up and my Constituency is merging with another which is served by a very good Lib Dem MP. As mentioned in another thread the Labour MP where I am took over £50k for her second home. How can you even think thats right? Fecking do one  .

I'll be voting Plaid, just like last time. They're all tossers - every single one of them - but at least Plaid are Welsh tossers.. ;)

Not a bloody clue; voted Tory all my life because I was brought up to be blue, but I just voted blindly without even bothering to read their policies. My Grandparents were huge Maggy fans and I must admit so was I, still am to a degree.
  • This would be so much easier if we just had a president like mugabe. Then we wouldn't have to discuss this , because no matter who you voted for mugabe would always win.

Now if only blair had thought of that 8)

  • I'm honestly torn.. Having been a member for 3 years and volunteered for them in 2003, I'll never vote Labour ever again due to their idiotic credit bubble economy that any fool could see was creaking in about 2006 and their complete disregard for the individual.

The Conservatives seem scarily non-commital on everything, they know the pain is coming but seem to want ot be all things to all men, complete lack of courage/convictions.

I could vote for the Lib Dems but like the first two they seem to believe that all power should rest with politicians, specifically politicians in Westminster.

UKIP have the kind of liberal economics that appeals to me but I recognise the good stuff the EU brings to Britain

The rest are crazies i'm not even considering.

So i'm open to persuasion from Cons, Lib Dems or UKIP at this point.

By the way, I found http://www.votematch.co.uk to be quite intresting in matching my views to those of the parties in my constituency... Lacking in Civil Liberties policy though.

  • I just did your linky and my end result came up with UKIP 56%, Cons 56%, Lab 49%, Lib Dem 37%, Green 33%

Being a traditionally labour supporter I'm really surprised with that.

I'm not adverse to us being part of europe as well, hmmmmmmmmmm!

I came out UKIP 60%, Lib Dems 42%, Tories 36% and Labour 12%. Odd combination of UKIP and Lib Dems!

As I say, I was a Labour True Believer a few years ago, I think that tells us a lot about the Labour Party!

I wonder how many of the bnp poll filler outers will actually go through with it?

The BNP garners its votes from who would have been solid Labour voters.
The "working class" has always had rather strong views on jobs, "foreigners" and sexual orientation.
