I have the Ptich 2010 and have had it about 7 weeks now. I ride it on average 3-4 times a week but only get 1 really serious ride in at the weekends. Before choosing to buy this i had a look at the 2010 Enduro Comp but when i compared the spec of the 2 bikes side by side there was little to choose between them in the geometry spec and when looking at the kit i felt that the extra £400 for the Enduro wasn't worth it. 2 of my riding buddies have 07/08 Enduros and 1 has a Stumpjumper S-Works. I have riden all of their bikes and can honestly say that the Pitch is as good at handling everything we do whether it be a trail center or a ride in the peak district. We recently rode cutgate and i had no problem keeping up on the decents as the bike felt assured and planted on all the rough stuff. I always find that when it comes to climbing it's more about the individual. A lot of people hate climbs and will never enjoy a climb no matter what they are riding. A lot depends on how fit and strong you are and your riding style. I like to stay seated and keep my upper body still when i climb which helps eradicate the "bob" effect and i am always the first to the top out of our bunch. You can't totally lockout the suspension on the Pitch but i can honestly say i have never felt the need to. If you like to stand up then you should perhaps consider changing the bike for something with front and rear lockout or upgrade the shocks to some which alow lockout but really that would cost a lot of money and would be a waste on a new bike. Unless your looking to race i think the Pitch is a superb bike at the price. When you pay more your usually paying for the kit and the so called latest technology in design. Design wise theres not much in it but more money buys you better lighter kit (usually). The frame is very good and pretty light so you can always upgrade the spec when the parts start to wear out then.0
