Here is my bike after riding the red route at Sherwood today. Some areas are in a bad state, the exposed areas are a lot better.

There has to be some serious hard work or a hot dry month, to repair the red route. Good luck FC.

  • I'll have a blast around and post back. If anyone is up there this arvo I willl be on my Fisher Marlin. Probs caked in mud lol
  • just got back. Not too bad, some of the red route is pretty much dry, but some of the sections are still very boggy.

the downhill / bike park area is fine though.

went today only a small percentage of the red trail was boggy, some sections you could see had been boggy but had dried up.

They have done some improvments since the last time i rode the full route and have weather proofed some sections better IMO

I really enjoyed it today and TBO the bike was not that dirty when i got home

Went round the Kitchener on Sunday - I was surprised by how dry it was. There were a few wet patches but most of them had a dry line either through or round them.

Some of the worse sections have a new surface and it looks like more will be done as there were a few piles of material about.
  • I rode there last Tuesday and it was 90 % Dry, there were dry runs round most of the wet stuff, some dark patches where its soggy, but then again there usually is.

I,ve got used to going out getting Sh!tted up ! Coming back cleaning bike drinking Tea !

I ride Wharncliffe or Pines evry week, i dont think ive ridden either many times in bone dry conditions ? Sure its nice to go out an not have to clean the bike but isnt that for people who have a fetish for LYCRA !

    Stay on the Roads !

Went back to sherwood today for a blast.

Well, what a difference a fortnight makes, kitchener trail 100% dry.

Think I managed to achieve my best time but my bike computer went tits up.

Enjoyed it that much we decided to do it twice. I wouldnt class it as red but a very good training route to get the miles in.

I havnt had to clean my bike as much as last time. Happy days.

going to centre Parcs in June and will take the bike so will go over there. What routes are there and what do you recommend. Also is it easy to get the routes from C Parcs and where am I best off starting from.

Right next to each others, although you will need to drive/ride round on the road to the entrance of pines as im sure there is no cut through? I may be proved wrong.

Starting from the main car park facing the cafe/bike shop, turn around and head across the carpark, the red xc trail starts on your right, the other side of the road.

If you have not been to the area before, prob best to stick to the waymarked trails, prob take you about 1hr to loop a loop of the red, then you can pick up the blue route too.

Any problems ask in the bike shop.

    Also look here;

You will find various FC and homemade trail maps/gps routes.

  • Go out of the Center Parcs entrance (past the check in cabins) then turn left on the dirt road along the edge of Center Parcs itself. In half a mile or so you're in the forest - take the fire road right at the x-roads to get to the visitor centre then follow hoochylala's directions.
