Recon Fork problems

lockout has stopped working and the forks wont compress fully LBS reckon its the motion control unit seals or could be the motion control unit itself(hope not) as they think the oil has leaked into the lower leg stopping em from compressing so starting with seal kit which is cheap
then not sure if its the motion control unit I may get another set of forks as a upgrade as there seem to be some bargains at the mo as they have quoted £140 min

£140?!!!

Tell them where to go. You can buy a whole moco stack and rebound assembly for less than that. Or just fit new seals.

£140 was for stripdown and rebuild with new motion control unit oil etc if its not the seals
they are charging £45 for the seal kit and oil and labour for seal fitting to start
I have looked at Videos on youtube and may fit seal kit myself as I used to be a car mechanic so feel confidant about taking things apart but will have to get oil and seal kit kit was £12 then I need the 2 types of oil and a measuring jug so may just let em do it

Its a recon race solo air shock
been stored on bike and bike has been stored on wheels apart from when I carried it in car for about 30 mins then it was on its side
Last time out I hit some very deep sloppy mud and went over the bars very slow, low speed nothing hurt but this may have popped a seal or something they seemed ok after crash as I had another 5 miles of riding to go
I took bike home cleaned it and stored it for 3 days they put into car and went to local trail started ride and noticed shock was feeling funny checked lockout and did not work then noticed lack of travel
