Hi,

I hope to do this ride, which is in early autumn.

Any ideas how I should prepare. I currently commutte 12 miles mon-fri - and usually do a 40 mile ride ride at the wekkend - avearge pace is around 15.5mph - the distance doesn't worry me - but how best to prepare for the hills ? - there are some short - but steep climbs by me - but don't know how these compare to the cat & fiddle - or how much this will prepare for the big ride.

Cheers Folks

If you can't get near any hills, just do, say, 20 mins hard in a big gear on the flat, that's the longest time you'll be climbing on that route.

The cat and fiddle is quite easy as it's not steep at all and there are some not inconsiderable downhills on the climb.

    You'll be fine!

    I ride a 39/25 - what would you suggest is a big gear ?

I m not the greatest descender either - tend to drop to the back on club runs !

Are you doing it this year ?
