Snapped chain

My chain snapped on Saturday well i was out. My first thought was that it had snapped at the power link but this was not the case. I removed the snapped link and replaced it with another power link , so running two power links in one chain. this fixed the problem and i was able to ride the rest of the day.

Q 1: Will it be OK running it the way it is and leaving it ?
Q 2: Can i just join the chain with a splitter ?

Please advise.

Thanks

You could, but it will probably be weaker than the powerlink, and a load of hassle, so there's not really much point. I've got 2 powerlinks in my chain, after it split where I'd tried rejoining it with a pin. (made the chain too short when I was fitting it )

I have 3 powerlinks (I think) in my chain at the moment and it is absolutely fine.

At least if I can't get one of them open, there are another 2 to try
