My hack bike (WIP)

Hoping this will be a bit of a sleeper and the fact the paint is pretty tired will mean it has less chance of being nicked from the pub hopefully! I'm building it up as a fixed gear to hopefully improve my pedaling technique and it'll be my training bike.
Frame is an old Holdsworth 531 which has already got a steel Campagnolo headset fitted
Excuse the cat, she like to get in all the photos!
Some wide angle cantis to hopefully slow it down
Gold chain
The most uncomfortable saddle in the world but it'll be swapped for a charge eventually
Camapagnolo chainset converted to a single ring, about a fraction of th price of a Pista one of Ebay!

Paul, I've got a Charge (black cromo version) going spare - it's done about 500 miles this winter, looks fairly new, £10 including postage and it's yours. No probs with it at all, I've just replaced all my saddles with cut-out versions. If you're interested PM me your email and I'll send a couple of photos over.

Being built at the moment, Gonnna be Zenith large flange track hubs, ACI Double butted stainless spokes and then Mavic CXP30/ Ambrosio /Alex equivalent medium depth rims (whatever they've got with the right number of holes)
I haven't screwed the B/B all the way in as i know you have to adjust the cups to set up the chainline on the Miche B/Bs and I haven't got the mega sized allen key for fitting the cranks
Might pop in and say hi later, have the golden beauties turned up yet?0 -
Did you ever finish the bike mate as it was starting to look really good ....You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

I did! Haven't ridden it for a while as I have a lowest back injury and it just beats me up over the rough ground unfortunately. Also a bit of a monster gear when I need to be spinning more to take the pressure off my back. Does go like a rocket though as there is nothing of it!0
-
It is a shame you can't really ride it then as it sounds a cracking piece of kit but i suppose thats how things go some time's  ..You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

Pedals are currently on the Domane, unfortunately with the way my back is this just kills it, can't bend your legs over dodgy road surfaces and it just kills my spine! Was fine before the accident though. Might have to sell this unfortunately, as lovely as it is :-(0
-
I'd be interested in buying but i'm currently after an MTB at the moment so a road bike would have to wait till next year unfortunately which is a shame as i'd certainly buy it off you so how bad was the accident ? ..You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

There were two accidents up in front of me and I'd stopped and managed to avoid them, about 4 cars stopped behind me then someone in a van drove in to the back of the que at full speed (He must have been on his phone not to see the carnage in front) That was last February and it still isn't better, looking at either an op or cortisone unfortunately :-(0
-
That seems like a right stinker of an accident so what was the best option to go for according to the doctor or was it one of those scenarios where the doctor says it's your choice as their isn't much difference in the outcome from either ..You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

Still waiting for the outcome of the MRI scan, it was private through the insurance company with the useless gifts at mobile doctors, wish I had gone NHS as it would be sorted by now!0
-
That's always a pain waiting for scan results to come through and it sounds to me like the doctors are purposely dragging their heels in order to to get paid more from the insurance regardless of how much hassle it is to you and as far as their concerned it's just another business deal so yes you probably would have been quicker getting it done through the NHS and you've just got to keep pestering the insurance company in order to get things sorted sooner rather than later ..You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

I will keep trying, and I think you are right, they're making the claim better for them, I don't care about the money I just want it fixed!0
-
That's the spirit mate and unfortunately it is a fact that your misery is just making doctors and insurers wealthy while the those that deserve the help get put through more prolonged pain so just keep pestering the insurance and things won't take half as long ..You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..
