Carbon bars.. what grips?

Decided to buy some less insane oversized risers and am thinking of giving this carbon wheeze a bit of a go. Probably will end up with either USE Atoms or Easton Monkeylite EC70 (input on those also appreciated) but can I use lock on grips with these or should I use something else?

I have perfectly good ODI Ruffians that I'd rather not change but if I have to change what should I be changing to?

I'm using lock on grips on my carbon ritchey wcs bars (very nice btw). Tighten them up a little, with a bit of carbon paste, see if they slip. Keep tightening until they stop slipping. And then stop tightening.

Cheers, thanks for the info. I'll check out the Ritcheys too.

These are the ones I'm using. Looks a bit dodgy, I know, but for that price, its brilliant. They're real enough - me and a mate just reckon they're straight from the factories back door, or off the rejected line. Apparently carbon layering isn't an exact science, and now and then bars come out too thin (by like 1/10th of a mm or something).

What it basically means was when I got mine, I had to put a small piece of coke can between the bar and my rockshox pushloc lever thing. Everything else fit perfectly.

Great, now I can't find one single reason to not just buy those. Cheers man, you just saved me a chunk of money.

Did your c*ck manage to slip into the edge of the photo?!?
    ;)
Ok, so it's a hen. But, that just doesn't quite work as a gag.
Stumpy, Rockhopper (stolen!) & custom SX Trail II - that should do it!
