Sadly my Canon Ixus 800IS has finally packed in. Not bad considering it was about 4 years ago and got the absolute s**t kicked out of it My brother was using it on his travels in Canada and it's his birthday in a couple of weeks so we're looking for a replacement...
Budget probably around £150-ish, got to be compact and durable, and easy to use. Which to me basically says "another IXUS" and I love those things. So I'm pretty tempted to just go straight for an IXUS 95 or 100.
The TZ6 is tempting, my TZ7's pretty cool but I don't trust its durability anything like as much, and it's a fiddlier thing to use- bigger, and the buttons always end up in the wrong place. So I'm not sure how good an idea that is.
Anything else? Oh, got to take SD cards, he has a load of them with him already.

Dad has a Fujifilm Fine Pix S5700
It's great and really compact. Can get really good shots with it and seems pretty rugged (used to bring it on rides all the time but now I am just to eager to ride that he has no time to take shots since he is a lot slower than me anyway)
The sound is really good on the video's as well0 -
My Ixus is a great little camera, would definitely buy another. Not sure if that helps you though!0

Ixus all the way IMO.
My 860is was fab, replaced it with a Panny FZ38, which is even better but twice the size!0
