Hi
Im thinking of riding the Llanberis pass this week. Looking at local weather forecasts, Wednesday an Friday look the better of the days this week.
Just wondering about the conditions of the actual Llanberis trail - is it rideable at the mo or still too snowy?
Thanks

In addition to Snowdon, Im going to ride Llandegla as well. On the coedllandegla site they say there is snow (but last updated 31/3/10). Anyone know what current conditions are like?
    Thanks

:? The Llanberis Pass doesn't have an mtb 'trail' - there is just the (at times very busy) main road (A4086)? Height at summit of pass is 395 metres above sea-level. There is a cafe at the car-park at the top. Be careful cycling up it at weekends as the cars will try to kill you as it is very narrow in places especially at the Nant Peris end or you find that you run into the back of them as they are watching the scenery rather than the road on the descent!!! Best done on a road bike!
Or did you mean Snowdon mountain itself from Llanberis? This is a serious ride to 1077m above sea level - be prepared for big mountain and weather - do not go up without extra clothing and be able to navigate your way off in cloud. Check the mountain websites as there may still be snow around up there and certain slopes up top can be lethal.
Be aware of the voluntary ban which affects the Llanberis Path, the Rhyd Ddu Path and
the Snowdon Ranger Path. The voluntary restriction on cycling on the Snowdon bridleways is in effect between 10 am and 5 pm from 1st of May until the 30th September. This was agreed by a wide range of public bodies and individuals, and seeks to ensure safety of all path users, and avoid conflict between users. Please respect the voluntary agreement, or risk having a complete ban on cycling

According to the Teletext, they are trying to get the snow off the Llanberis railway track for the Spring. Using blowers/heaters etc.

So, doesn't look too good for a bike, unless you are an Eskimo!

I drove thro the valley on Monday. Snow on all the toops, deep and probably icey too.

Just got back from llanberis. The llanberis track up snowdon is only doable for 3/4 of the way by bike. Some walkers got all the way up but said the snow is still very deep. In answer to my other question, llandegla is completely rideable
