6700, SL or Rival?

Have to say I was all made up on SL.

6700 looks a bit odd.

But having read the reviews of Rival, as long as I "get" the method of shifting, it's a no brainer isn't it?

  • I would stretch a little further and get a Sram Force groupset! :P

Mrs will never go for that. Besides it's £439 plays £599. Will I gain that much with Force?

  • Force looks spectacular! I went for Dura Ace, and I am slowly going to replace it with Sram Force when I can afford it, at the moment, I just have the chainset. :( I wish I had gone for Force in the first place!!

    Rival ain't pig ugly mind.

I was thinking of getting the groupset, hocking the rear and getting a red off ebay!

I have both 6700 and Force.
No brainer... I'll be changing my 6700 out, for the Force, before next Winter.
I'll put Red on my Summer bike, to replace the Force.

If you're thinking of getting a Rival groupset, then swapping the rear mech to Red, I'd rethink that, and if funds permit, change the shifters up to Red, much more noticeable difference.

Hmm I've got force on my bike, replacing 105. I love the look of force but think I prefer the feel of shimano. Putting sl/7800 mix on new bike. Prefer the soft shifting to the slightly flimsy, clunky feel of force.

Neither will change my life, both should work just force looks nicer on my cannondale and sl/7800 fits better with my steel bike.

    My 2p.

    Ta all,

Rival will look great on my black/silver Lemond. And add that bit of yankness to it as well.

Now, off to sell that Ultegra Triple groupset.
