OT - Wii contoller set up...

My son and I are both left handed.
I am actually ambidextrous (SP!), I write naturally with my left hand, but do most other things as a right handed person.
My son, however, is a very strong lefty, which is proving a little awkward for him when he plays on the Wii... When playing Mario Kart, he wants to turn the steering wheel upside down, as that's how he feel's comfortable. Unfortunately, this turns everything a*se over t!t!
He's only 4, so finds this frustrating.
Is there anywhere in the settings that will allow me to set up his controller as left handed?
I've had a look and didn't see anything, maybe just clutching at straws...

I think that it is possible to control Karts in Mariokart using the nunchuk. That way you can use all the other functions in whatever hand you choose. Not really the point of the Wii, but maybe a solution.
It does seem odd that this was not thought of in the original programming, however.0 -
I don't really see what the need would be. Direction is controlled by moving the control around. Admittedly accelerating/braking is controlled by the right hand thumb, put then looking, droping, firing back and forth are all controlled by the left hand. I don't really see how being left handed would be a disadvantage, I'm left handed and I've never had a problem.
I don't mean to sound rude, considering that your son is only 4, but it may just be a case of showing him how to use it correctly and he'll have to learn to use it that way.
If he really does struggle then the only other options I know of would be to use the nunchuck as stigofthedump mentioned or try the classic controller http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Wii-Classic-Controller/dp/B000IN0BSU.0 -
Cheers guys... He's slowly picking it up, now.
Watching him, it's like a left handed person trying to play a right handed guitar!
Like he wants to mirror everything.
Explaining all this to a 4 year old can be difficult. I guess I'm lucky to be left handed, too, to make it easier to undrstand what he wants to do.Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0
