Triathlon Cycling Shoes over Road Shoes ?

Is this a daft idea ?
I am still cycling on flat pedals + some very lightweight low cut trainers. Spotted the Shimano TR31 shoes which look really nice and the idea of cycling with no socks on during summer appeals to me. I have read online that they would not be good in autumn / winter as they would not be warm enough, but I have poor circulation in my feet meaning my feet rarely get cold when out on the bike so for me the warmth factor is not an issue.
Any reason why I should go for road shoes over the tri shoes .... ?
Cheers.

Personally would stick with normal road shoes. Tri shoes are designed for quick change overs and usually have only one tightening point. Most normal road shoes have three and can therefore be tweaked more for size.0 -
You can wear no socks with regular road shoes too - an if it gets nippy, buy some overshoes for winter. IME tri-shoes are OK, but the upper is a bit of a compromise to allow easy entry and exit and don't quite hold your foot as securely as a good road shoes, particularly one with a ratchet strap. You probably wouldn't notice if they're your first purchase and you fancy a bit of multi-sport too.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Thanx guys. Only reason I consider this is the Shimano TR31 look as if they might be quite comfortable. I did get some of the £50 DHB road shoes but one of the cleat holes was stripped so I had to send them back, with a pair of thin socks on they did not feel that comfortable as I have really narrow feet hence what looks like the mesh/fabric lining of the TR31 shoes is appealing.0
